Societies have often dictated the class of a human being based on many unfair things. The great blessing about our world today is the fact that with relative ease we can multiply our passion into something great and create comforts and luxuries that far exceed the nicest things of the richest kings in most ages. This being said it is interesting that so many of us are still human. We still give in to our natures and choose the path that seems most attractive instead of the one that is right. Why haven’t we yet learned that the grass is not as green as we think it will be on the other side of the fence?
I believe that each person has many gifts given to them at birth and many potential talents that we can develop into assets that bring us happiness. People are busy working jobs they do not like so they can do things after work that they do like. This seems like a backwards way to live life.
One man loves growing plants, another loves bookkeeping. The first works a job he does not like doing bookkeeping because it allows him a living so he can maintain his greenhouse. The second man works at a garden center hoping for a bookkeeping job wondering why he waters plants all day. This is not societies fault but is a problem in our society. Why cant these two men trade jobs? It seems simple but our society has proven that this case is ever present.
The gifted individual wishes to use his gift to make a living. His gifts and talents are his greatest joy and assets. When he recreates on the weekends he employs his talents to the fullest. and here is where he really shines as a human being and finds the most fulfillment out of life. During the week at his employment he does another mans work and becomes a robot to his duties. The smiles that come to his lips come in moments of clarity about his own life, his own joy, his own contribution to the world.
Society demands what it will in flesh, taxation, humiliation, heartbreak, and fear. Society takes much and presents the stage for men to rise up and act like men. On that stage of life some find a way to share their gifts with others, their talents with the crowd. There are some who just don’t make themselves known but do their best to get along in their work, gifts hidden and talents under bushels .
Imagine a world where all women, boys, men, and girls only did what they were gifted at and developed their talents to sharpened points. What if employees wanted to come to their jobs because their job brought them great joy? What if managers were free to manage and trainers were free to train and supervisors were free to supervise instead of deal with unhappy employees? The great what if!
Why is it that Grandma Moses was an old lady when she discovered her gift of painting? What gift lays dormant inside of my soul? What gift was never shared from a friend who dared not open her mouth? Fear rules our hearts!
All the human race can achieve the gift of giving love to others. We can smile. We can do something good. We can show gratitude. What greater gift can we give than to say thank you to the kind hearted soul who serves us.
As long as we remain human we can strive for the excellence we are capable of. Let society become wonderful by giving ourselves to it. Let joy fill our hearts as we engage in our chosen profession. Let the days pass by in peace as we train our little ones to believe in the good they do.
Societies do not create class systems but they are present. Talents under bushels and gifts not shared are the culprit.
